The phrase “getting away with murder” is common in much of our daily discourse – – figuratively for example when lenient parents spoil their kids by letting them ‘get away with murder’ or more literally by people who feel that O. J., who was exonerated by a jury, actually got away with murdering his ex-wife. More recently, bank CEOs told Congress they were victims of forces beyond their control instead of primary movers in procedures that brought the financial world to near ruin. And when people die because they are refused medical coverage from super-selective insurance companies are the corporate giants who deny them responsible in some measure for their fate?
